The storage limitations of Amazon EC2 instances

Windows Operating Systems:
  • For instances with SSD volumes, volumes are a maximum of 2 TiB; no single file system can exceed 2 TiB
  • For instances with Magnetic volumes, volumes are a maximum of 1 TiB; no single file system can exceed 1 TiB
  • Each instance supports a maximum of 16 volumes
Linux Operating Systems:

  • For instances with SSD volumes, volumes are a maximum of 2 TiB
  • For instances with Magnetic volumes, volumes are a maximum of 1 TiB
  • Each instance supports a maximum of 16 volumes
